Are there inspections in the US for stud book sbs?

I am only familiar with Old/NA and RPSI

Someone made a comment on this stallions throat latch. I was just curious what people thought that have seen him in person. Don't stallions have a thicker throat latch generally speaking?

I really like him for a hunter sire (with the right mare of course) especially because he has tb blood.

Studbook sBs does have a limited inspection tour - hopefully it will expand in the future. However, foal registrations can be done by mail and branding can also be arranged.

Carracci is a very impressive stallion in person. I certainly didn't see any throat latch flaws and I know that the sBs judges were very impressed with this stallion!

Carracci is very impressive in a number of ways. Temperament, presence, rideability, his sport career, and his offspring's results. I have two foals coming in the spring by him and I have not been this excited about a foaling season in some time.

Samotis, Carracci was presented and approved in Europe by the Holsteiner Verband. He was 70-day tested in Germany so while approved sBs over here, you should be able to take his offspring to most registries in the US. I'm taking both of my foals to sBs as it's easy and very cost effective.

How is his gallop? Thinking he has potential to sire a pretty cool eventer...however, I'm a 'gallop snob' Something you can mix with a good TB & end up with a good gallop?

Grundyman is a very cool sire / dam-sire.

I think he has a very good gallop, given what I've seen while photographing him (keeping in mind it isn't something he is encouraged to do with his old ankle injury!). I have photos somewhere in the States - I will find them when I get home.
