Crosspost: The Second Race Raising Money to Save TB Stallion
Cross-posting from Sport Horse Breeding... This guy is lovely! And if saved, should be available for adoption soon (foster is already secured).
I follow this group (The Second Race) on Facebook and they save a lot of horses from slaughter/bad situations and rehome.
This was posted today:
"Bridled West, is a horse that needs help ASAP, his current owner will have him killed and rendered to the meat man this Friday. This has been confirmed and a lawyer spoken to, the current owner can do this. The owner wants $ 1,000 to save him. We are working with another group. To help send donation via PayPal to [email protected] THANKS!!!"
Here is a video of the horse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpkQZMoqDlg
I am only sharing the information that I have to help this group, I know nothing more than what is posted by The Second Race

Wow! He's gorgeous! Wish I had room for another... I bet he'll be snatched up in no time, though.

Looks like a nice horse.
But his pedigree DOES NOT support a stallion career. He has no stakes race victories or places, his dam produced not much. Second dam a decent horse who didn't relicate her race career in her progeny. No reason for him to be a race horse stallion and unless he proves himself as a Sports Horse sire..GELD him

I absolutely agree. I wasn't posting in either forum for someone to get him as a breeding stallion. Not sure if the farm who posted the video is the one "selling" him - but if so, that would signify to me that he was used for QH breeding to produce appendix crosses. He probably was not producing the quality they wanted, and therefore has become disposable. IF he is sound and of good mind, he might make a decent riding horse though.
