    Default Mosquito repellent for dogs?

Is there any such thing? My three-month-old GSD, Piper, has major itchies from the mosquitos going after her. We have a very low, barely tidal "creek" (basically standing) as the border for our backyard but no other nearby standing water. I spray myself with Off anytime I go outside, but can't do that for her, right?

    Thanks for any ideas!!

    K9 Advantix provides mosquito protection.

Use with caution though if your dog has kitty friends.

We do have three indoor kitties, so can't use something bad for them.

As long as you keep the two groups separated for a while after administering the product (check with your vet for an exact timeline), you should be fine.

Saratoga Horseworks makes a Kool Coat that is basically made form the same fabric as their horse fly sheets. It will help keep the bugs off him. http://www.horseworks.com/inc/sdetail/157/181

Can you throw some mosquito dunks in the creek? You might need to use quite a few and it won't help outside of your immediate area, but it might help some. Maybe???

You can also spray the dog with Avon SSS, but I wouldn't put regular bug spray on a dog since they lick themselves and ingest it.

When we had dog classes at the park, we used Off on all, humans and dogs, approved by our vets, some that were also training with us.
Our dogs in training at that time were a dobie and toy poodle, but there were all breeds in our classes.

Ask your vet if Off is ok for your dog also.
