    Default Pentosan Joint injection ?

Has anybody tried this product? What are your thoughts? This is instead of adequan. It can be done IM.

There are multiple current threads on pentosan injections. Lots of debate on whether its legal or not in US.

ETA: Realized the other threads were no longer on first page so here are the links to two of them.

We use it quite regularly here in Australia. Not sure if your asking about injecting it directly into the joint itself or just about the product itself. We generally just use it IM.

I'm liking it a lot. Sometimes with this stuff, it's hard to really see a difference, but I am really seeing it. I know when it's time for one of my horses to get it when his canter wants to start to get a little 4 beat-y. With in a day, his canter is stronger and he feels terrific again. Also, hard to beat the price, which is why I keep going back to it. Adequan and Legend has too high a price point for me right now, especially considering I am currently shoeing, feeding, and clothing two "high performance" horses (which wasn't supposed to happen! ).

Pentosan is now a commercially available prescription drug available through your veterinarian.
