Default Help Please ASAP! For Compliment Thawing Instructions??

Does anyone have thawing instructions for For Compliment? For some reason our semen came without it and our mare is cycling a bit early and will go to be bred tommorow.

    Thanks!

    Kyla

    Isn't he a Celle stallion?

I THINK they are all the same -- drop a quick email to one of the brokers...don't quote me on this, but I seem to recall it's 30 secs at 98 degrees F.

No he is not Celle. Call Judy Y or Carol Austin with SES. Both carried his semen. I would give you the protocol, but it is with the semen which is at the vet's.

He was still a PS stallion then, so same protocol as for all the PS stallions.

Alexandra, the new owners are not even doing fresh right now then? I guess I am very lucky I still have some left, because I for sure will use him again:-)

Well, sounds like it might not happen this season... we just found out that there has been an outbreak of neurological EHV in alberta. My repro vet is into cutting and breeds alot of cutting horses and the outbreak started at a cutting show in Utah. No way I am going to risk taking momma anywhere right now.

Alexandra, that is too bad they aren't doing fresh...I wonder why? Are they competing him heavily? I am using him on our Rosentau/Arkansas/Akzent II mare though if we aren't able to breed with frozen this year due to the above mentioned reason I may be much more tempted to use it on this mare's Londonderry daughter next year (pic below @ two years old).

Imajacres, do you have any pics of your FC?

*sniff* I was determined to use him again.. our colt by him was born 2 days ago and is a carbon copy. Really really happy with him. But of course, I just had the one dose. Maybe there is some stashed somewhere (?)

If you want to send semen within the EU you have to fulfill a lot of rules obligations (a sort of quarantine for the stallion etc etc.) He is now in switzerland which in Non-EU and I have no clue what is involved in sending semen over.
I know there is frozen left, but I have no idea what kind of contracts existis that neither PS not the Ex-owner sell semen. :-((

Just out of curiosity.. those restrictions over the sale of semen- is that normal in the sale of a well known stallion? It is pretty heavy considering that have stopped making him available.. it would make sense if they were standing him, and wanted exclusive rights, but to pull him out of the market and restrict the sale of whats already frozen seems, um, interesting..curious if that is normal.

There is a thread on this somewhere; all who have any left want to keep it for themselves:-). Did your vet use your whole dose?

Yes, I remember the thread-- just hoping someone had some 'extra' and yes, my vet used the whole dose, he always does, never splits a dose.

No he was sold to a swiss dressage rider.

@wehrlegirl: I have no clue whether something like this was included in a contract or not, I just know that neither PS nor Sandbrinks seem to sell frozen of him anymore.

Well, someone got a nice riding horse! Too bad though for us breeders.

Has anyone tried using half a dose? Any success?

Wehrlegirl, your colt looks great. Nice angles! Keep posting pics of him!
