Default Show barns in San Diego

    Hi all,

I am considering moving to San Diego in the next year or so, and I am wondering how many hunter/jumper barns are in the area? I assume there has be quite a few because of the large shows at Thermal and the Del Mar Show Park.

I am just trying to get a feel for the area, any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Totally depends on what area yuo want to be in or how far you want to drive. There are all levels and qualities of trainers.. and many price ranges. hey can e very competitive with each other for business..so maybe figure out what area you will be spending most of your time in.. and repost for advice based on location..Del Mar, N county, S county, East county, (west county would be Jaques/Pierre Cousteau they do sea horses, lol)

It's a "KILT". If I wore something underneath, it would be a "SKIRT".

Try Ce Ce Durante at New Market, or the Endicotts (Christa and Mike)

There are a ton of great barns in the area. Do you ride hunters or jumpers? Equitation? Do you have your own horse? Do you want to do the AA circuit, or some county shows/B circuit? Or a mix of both? What kind of program are you looking for- lots of pro rides? Or more lessons for you? Do you like riding with good juniors or do you like the more laid back lessons with ammy ladies? Do you have to work full time and need someone that can teach late? All those things will help narrow it down but you do have some really great options and some of the best show facilities close by.

A friend of mine that moved out there years ago rode with Ce Ce Durante at New Market and had a positive experience.
    Who is John Galt?
