When a great situation drops into your lap...
I am so happy! I haven't had time to ride Jet often for the last year due to work, so he's been out on pasture being ridden irregularly.
I recently found someone through this board, who used to board at a barn I used to be at that is now horseless and wanting to ride. I remembered her as being a kind owner and good rider, so she came out Sun and rode Jet, under my trainer's supervision. Trainer said she did really well with him.
I just watched her ride Jet tonight and she did great. He normally LOVES attention, but can be a little quirky to ride especially if he doesn't like the person. (Not to mention, hard for many people to catch...he went right to her). He was as relaxed as he could be considering he was the only horse out there, and there were lots of shadows.
It thrills me to know that he'll be getting extra attention and loving, and someone that was horseless has something to ride. I never thought I'd find a horseless rider here in El Paso through this board. Especially one that rides well, and my horse likes.

That is wonderful news!! Congrats to finding him more attention! I have been in the same boat. I am just thankful my guy can handle the sporadic work schedule. He does not however handle full blown being out of work.

Isnt it a blessing? I was able to free lease out Captain for a year or so while I am in foal myself...its so nice to KNOW he is being taken care of and ridden instead of waisting away in a pasture.
The updates and pictures are all just icing on the cake for me.

Having been the horseless rider many times over the years, I think it is very kind and generous of you to be willing to share your horse! I'm sure she appreciates it and it sounds like she will take very good care of him.
