Default CANADIANS! Don't forget to vote today!

Election Day in Canada. I am pretty sure the Conservatives could run a senile baboon in my riding and it would still win but I am still voting. GREEN!

Regardless of how you plan to vote, please vote. People in other parts of the world die for this right.

My HH and I went a few hours ago - busy but no line up here either.

I'm sure the PC candidate will get elected in this riding - we are rural with a lot of people who would vote Reform or CH if there was a candidate - so I think this guy is a shoe- in.
But across the country? It should be very interesting.

Default Our station in Calgary was busy this morning

Mr. Zarafa and I spent some quality time with the senior citizens, doing our bit to try and throw out the hated (CPC) incumbent. Not likely but we have to do what we can. GO GREENS!!!

It's pretty much a given that Sask will go Conservative. Rumour has it Goodale's seat in Regina is in jeopardy and the one NDP seat up north may go Conservative too. The broadcast just started on radio

I have to say I never thought I'd live to see this day in Quebec... Almost solid NDP, unbelievable. I hope all the new Kneedippers, as Frank magazine used to call them, are fervently boning up on their parliamentary procedure!

And for all the Liberals who voted Conservative because they were afraid of the NDP... I think you will regret it!

Looks like Lizzie May is on her way to Parliament, though. My one bright spot of the evening.

    that's good news!
I gave up watching when they called it as a Conservative majority, and switched to Jon Stewart.

Being a Canadian living abroad right now, what are the major issues for this election? Or point me towards the website that gives an overview of the election?

On a side note , should have looked into how to vote when you are over seas.

Sadly I'm stuck at work tonight, with all sorts of firewalls against tv streaming. Good think I loaded up my iPod with Garnet Rogers, eh?

Polydor, you might want to check out the CBC for coverage. Alberta, as always, went blue (except for Edmonton Strathcona). The NDP swept out the Bloc in Quebec.

I hope we can still recognize our country in four years, when we get to have an election again.

My son lives in Montreal and phoned to say he could not believe the province had gone orange!! He voted Liberal though.

I also voted Liberal and I am quite dismayed at the Conservative majority. I don't 100% disagree with the policies but I hate Harper. I just cannot stand his arrogance. I just did not want to help split the votes today. But hoy...

    The NDP sure made progress!

I am happy with the majority conservative government. The NDP had big promises, but where the heck do you think the money for that is coming from? Oh ya... Us. Ignatiaff shot himself in the foot by calling an election nobody wanted and wasting money. He ran a brutal smear campaign. I never once heard him say what he wanted to do with the country. I only heard him throw Harper under the bus. He was an embarrassment to the liberal party and Canada sure showed him what they thought. The liberal party needs a new leader whom majority of Canada doesn't hate.
