Default Who the heck are Olivia Loiacono & Subway?

Never heard of them before, but golly what a NICE first round at Rolex! I was super impressed with both horse and rider. I was especially in impressed with how mentally "on"the rider was and how intelligently she rode the course and her horse! Her horse seemed well prepared, well conditioned, keen and cooperative.

This seems to be a really nice pair - so I hope the right people are paying attention! I thought the announcer said they were out of California? Which would explain why I've never heard of them before.

Edited to add: He's a TB right? Anyone know his breeding?

Last time I was this impressed was the first time I saw Donna Smith ride.

Count me as a new fan. What a horse, and she rode him like she stole him!

Olivia is well-known to many of us.

You can read about her here: http://www.horsesdaily.com/news/youn...-loiacono.html

Very lovely, smart, and professional first ride at Rolex. Brava!

The O'Connor's having been making posts about them, so assuming they are a student of theirs.
Super exciting for them to have a good go around their first time!

I thought Buck said she worked with him for a few years in the commentary...

Olivia is from Calif. she rides with and works for the O'Connors.
She is a lovely young woman who,has not had the recognition she deserves. She is a great horsewoman, who has worked very hard with Subway, to get to her first Rolex.
He is lovely and I expect they will jump around clean tomorrow

I turned it on just in time to see her go, and she did a great job. Lovely horse and very smartly ridden.

Liv is a great friend, and a great competitor. She is hard as nails, and Subs was a perfect horse to show her the ropes around a 4*. They are from California, rode with Hawley Bennett, worked for Buck for awhile, and are now at Team O'Connor. She is definitely one for the future!

Watched them for the first time too and was SO impressed and happy for them! I'm a fan and will be cheering them on in the future. (btw: had the same thought with Susan Beebee and Prowler, they also had an awesome XC go!).
