Default Totilas' show debut at the 2011 CDI Hagen Cancelled

The hoof sore is taking longer to heal and because Toto was treated with medicine he can't be competed at the 2011 CDI Hagen due to the waiting time.

Interesting because you can clearly see in an image that he had a quarter crack at one time on the left front......?

Hoof sore: Does that mean he has an abscess?

What is interesting about it? Horse is sore, they medicated him to make him comfortable. Now, he can't compete. It's good horsemanship and nothing else.

What kind of banned substance would they be using to treat an abscess, which is what they initially said it was?

Athletes get sore, it happens. Might be as simple as a stone bruise.

Gosh, I rarely get involved in these types of discussions but..... so what? Athletes do get sore. It's sportsmanlike to treat the soreness and withdraw from the competition. This happens all the time but yet it seems to be unique when it happens to a famous horse. He's just a horse! What would people say if they campaigned a lame horse or he was disqualified for testing positive? Sheesh!

Satchmo also wears heart bar shoes (apparently his are just on the hind feet, though).
