    Default Chester County PA

I am looking at a job in Chester County PA. I am told the farm is on something (that used to be) called the 'King' ranch/property. 6000 acres of just horses and farms, or something like that. Cheshire hunt is there. Lots of Eventers and such.

Anyone here live in that area ? Looking for info on what the area is like, what farms are around, etc.

If I were rich, I would definitely live there! Gorgeous country, miles and miles of beautiful farms--pretty much all the English disciplines are well represented.

Chesterland Horse trials used to be held there. Wonderful horse country. New Bolton Center, the University of Pennsylvania's large animal facility is located out there. Many, many top notch dressage and eventing people are located there or close by.

The farm you are referring to was/is? Buck and Doe run.

    Terrific hunt country.
Some riders change their horse, they change their saddle, they change their teacher; they never change themselves.

Remember the horse does all the work, we just sit there and look pretty.

I was there for a summer and I really miss it! Loved hacking out in the Laurel Preserve and watching the Cheshire Hunt go through in the mornings. Lots of eventing and hunt people, Bruce Davidson is nearby.

I was working at a place that was part of the King Ranch, still had cows on it and bordered the Laurels... it was pretty much heaven for a horse crazy teen!
