    Default Lunging

I am going away for 12 days and I have the horse at our own farm so I can't really have some one ride him all the time. I have some one who is willing to lunge him for me, and maybe pop on him once or twice and I was just wondering what the best lunging device would be to leave for them to use on him so he continues to stay in shape. I think I have side reins and a bungee but I was going to go out and buy a surcingle so I can pick up something else to lunge him in if needed.

Depends on whether the person doing the longeing knows how to longe the horse in a gadget correctly. If they don't you should probably just leave a longe line.

I think she will be okay with the devices, she is quite knowledgeable with using several of them.

I agree with the first poster. Best to ask her what she prefers and what she is comfortable using. I personally like surcingle and side reins or even better long lines and ground driving. That is wonderful that she is going to keep you him going for you while you are gone
