Default Canter have a potentially very nice mare available

Her conformation looks good and her family connections are also excellent for sport. Is anyone looking for a new TB broodmare?

    Here is her pedigree:

No, I'm not looking for a TB brood mare, so why am I clicking the link and going "Oh My" I want her, but to ride, not breed I love her looks.

Now all I need is a cheap way of getting her form Kentucky to Canada *SIGH*

She IS nice, but at 11 yrs of age she obviously isn't running anymore and they don't mention what she's been doing since retiring. But she LOOKS like a broodmare.

They also don't mention her potenial as a broodie, so maybe she hasn't excelled in that regard.

Nice mare, but I would investigate her breeding history before jumping in.

    Just sayin'.....

^ I was just logging in to point that out. No mention of broodmare potential. Low $ price and suitable for riding. Probably a shame b/c she looks like a sturdy type.

Yes, but one must define "excelling" as a broodmare. Excelling as a race broodmare is not the same as excelling as a sporthorse broodmare, we don't have the same goals.

Asking about her repro history or condition would be easy enough. I wouldn't assume anything. It could be they think marketing her as a riding horse is an easier sell than a broodie. Very nice mare!

I would not assume anything from the ad because the Canter ads are not always drafted with the greatest of care; they are just intended to get the horses into a loving home ASAP.

When I use the phrase "excel" in this case I just mean getting and staying pregnant....that's all.

Ah! Goes to show how the definition matters though!
