Jingles for Lily
I'm waiting for shift change this morning so I can call the emergency vet hospital for a status update on Lily. She's one of a pair of captured feral kittens I adopted last November. Took the pair, Lily and her sister Daisy for spaying on Friday. Over the weekend, they were both eating and drinking. By Monday, Daisy had bounced back to her normal self, but Lily was still a bit depressed. She did not improve, so I took her to the vet yesterday where she presented with a 107 temperature. They put her on ice and got her temperature down to 105 before transferring to the emergency hospital overnight.

Poor Lily. Maybe somebody botched something, maybe not.
Jingles for Lily...I have a Lily too. She used to be feral, doesn't want to come in the house, loves the garage and the barn.

You know, I've noticed a pattern on COTH. For some reason, too many posters jump to conclusions and/or want to place blame. Why?

Thank you. She's spending another night at the cat hospital for observation since her temperature is still a bit high. They've got her on fluids and antibiotics and she's eating. I expect to bring her home tomorrow after work.

I can't speak for anyone else but I'm a pessimist and I am very skeptical of vets. Old vets (pre 1999) seemed like realists and newer vets always seem to be wanting me to help them pay off their student loans, mortgage, or practice purchase with these nickel and dime charges and either farting rainbows optimism or gloom and doom pessimism, both of which can only be proved with more tests! more xrays! a specialist!
But that's just me. And my experience with 8 vets in the last 12 years.

Kryswyn- I understand where you are coming from, you forgot looking down on you if you can't afford/decide against their opinion. I felt this way for a long time, vets were a nessecary evil. I have found a SPECTACULAR practice where I and my animals are made to feel like cared for individuals and my opinions and finances are taken into account. I hope you find one as good.
More jingles for Lily
