That story could've been written about my father's second wife. Unfortunately, despite being arrested (her) and managing to alienate his entire family (including me) with crazy lawyer's letters and threats of lawsuits and police investigations... my father is still head over heels in love.
I think there is a special place in hell for people like this. The ones just psychotic enough to ruin many, many people's lives, but not dangerous enough to warrant much attention from the authorities.
The really sad part of this story is Genevive did own several approved Friesian stallions (and there are only about 100 of those in the World at any one time), and she did provide a lot of good breeding information to US breeders, helping them find good matches for their mares. AND she helped fund and was the force behind starting up the Friesian Show circuit (IFSHA). It is just weird that someone could do so much good and be so crazy at the same time There are a lot of hurt feelings and people feeling very betrayed in the Friesian world over this whole fiasco. It hasn't been a good thing...
Kind of makes you wonder what goes on inside such a head - her head AND her husband's head! I think they should be donated to science
Meanwhile, stand by for the movie version of this story...
So re-inventing oneself as a French aristocrat is not enough, her husband faked her death????
And her husband is a doctor - so isn't that illegal? There HAS to be some legal issues here (besides selling a horse facility to someone who paid extra because it belonged to French aristocrazy). I suspect there is much more to this story then we'll ever know. Think I'll subscribe to the Fresno Bee for a while
I remember reading about that wackadoodle. She is absolutely certifiable, but her husband is the really diabolical one for going along with the gag and especially for helping her fake her death. What a pair.
The Friesian stallions she owned did die under mysterious circumstances, especially Bonne 341. Supposedly he "his his head on a tree". Hmmmmmmm......
Starting IFSHA was likely for exposure and profit.
Schizophrenic sociopath fits the bill.........
Not to worry...the blurb that [presumably] she put on Allbreed Pedigree Online assures us it was "quick and painless" for dear Bonne:
Bonne was very special, and will always be missed. We will never see another of his kind in our lives, but can only be comforted in knowing that his death was quick and painless. We love you and miss you, Bonne. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/bonne4
