    Default Registry Options

While I am sitting here, sleep deprived, watching a mare "not" foal, I am trying to decide about what registry for a colt that was born in February.
He is by Rubignon out of a full Trakehner mare (ATA OSB Model mare).
My choices have come down to either part Trakehner or SWANA. When I checked with SWANA several months ago, I understood the foal would be eligible for full papers.
I am very familiar with the ATA, not so much with SWANA.
What would be the pro/cons of one or the other registry ?
    TIA !

I'm always an advocate for the Trakehner, but if all things are equal and you can get full papers vs half papers I would get the full papers. The only benefit for half papers from the ATA is 1) not going to another registry (assuming you are a member already), 2) the HOY awards once the foal is under saddle. I have no idea what SWANA is like in terms of a registry, just thinking of the "value" of the papers..

I was thinking the same way for one of mine. Hanoverian or Westphalian. Another thing to consider is how close the inspectors come to your area.
