    Default Thoroughbred Racing & Betting?

    Wouldn't it be fabulous if 1% of all the bets placed for the Kentucky Derby would be donated to Thoroughbred Rescue/Re-Homing efforts.

    There's a TB rescue near me that gets money from the track to rehab TBs and then shoots the ones that aren't sound; that money could buy a lot of bullets! Lets get right on it.

    Well, if you can manage to rein in entitlement and sarcasm long enough to draft a polite letter to the companies that handle the betting, you might achieve something.

    It would certainly make more sense than taking cuts of purse money, especially at the lower-level tracks where it's not like the owners and trainers are raking in the big bucks.
