I have been hoping for the opportunity to breed one of my mares to Afternoon Deelites for a Rasmussen cross to Teddy daughter, Tedmelia (It actually puts Tedmelia's dam, Sunmelia, top, middle, & bottom of the cross).

Given that he was retired to Old Friends due to infertility, a "conjugal visit" probably doesn't make sense in any case.

True...and he had fertility issues in 2006 due to an adverse reaction to a strangles vaccination according to PedigreeOnline database...but according to the retirement article, "Afternoon Deelites was bred to 27 mares in 2010 and has 34 current Two-Year-Olds." Sooo, they're apparently not all blanks

Yeah just not enough to keep the bank balance up high! It is funny how 25-30 mares used to be a full book and now if a stallion ONLY gets that many (settled or not) it isn't enough to bother with!

They are not set up to do breeding and probably wouldn't either. They could get into trouble with their insurance even if they did it just once. If you've ever been to a thoroughbred breeding shed then you know it takes more then 1 or 2 people to get the job done safely. I'm pretty sure they don't have the people to do that. Michael would be happy to know how much you like that horse, but they are there for retirement. No more racing and breeding, just pets. That's his new job.
