Default NCers-Buying Adequan on the internet w/vet prescription?

Hi In previous years, I've been able to have my vet write a prescription and then purchase Adequan through Heartland etc. and save some $$. This year, it seems it is hard to find an online pharmacy that is licensed in NC. I could have it shipped to Virginia or South Carolina I suppose. Someone did tell me there are a few online pharmacies that are licensed in NC. Anyone know?? Thanks so much!

I've used Allivet before - they have a pretty good price.

Free shipping, fast service, can't complain, and I'm in NC as well.....

According to their website, SmartPak ships pharmaceuticals to all 50 states: http://www.smartpakequine.com/PharmacyLicensing.aspx

Looks like their prices have gone up recently, but there shipping is always really fast.

Hunterhorse22, thanks so much!! I forgot about checking Smartpak. They can indeed ship it to NC. I usually pay $42 a vial but this year, it will be $44. SO worth it though.

Not sure if your vet would be okay with this, but Southern Pines Equine has an association w/ a veterinary online pharmacy/distributor that they direct their clients to for products like Adequan...It allows them to make sure their clients are ordering from a reputable source, saves the clients money, keeps their overhead low, etc.

I'm sure you could order thru their website if you called first and faxed them the prescription?

If you buy the 7 vial set for $299, that comes to around $42/vial.

Great thread, perfect timing. Do you recommend the series or doing the monthly injections? Vet says monthly will be good as a preventative (no real problems now, but there is reduced joint space) but I'm still not sure if the series would be better.

HH, I was told to do the loading dose-one shot every five days and use seven vials. I always see a difference in my horse after doing this-he feels good!!
