I wonder how many of us, of a certain age, can blame Ms Taylor in some way for fueling our horse crazy obsession? I certainly was google eyed over National Velvet.

Thank you, Dame Elizabeth, for parting the violet, velvet curtains for a glimpse into the celestial beauty and passion that you embodied, and which lightened our journeys on this darkened planet.

With tears streaming I came on to start this thread. Thanks for starting this one. I think many of us remember National Velvet and how it stirred us.
I was fine until they started talking about her sweet family. Although she was a film icon, she was also a Mom and Grandmom and they are grieving a her loss today. May they have the private space they need.
Rest in peace Elizabeth. Thanks for helping make me a horse crazy little girl.

Beautiful. I kind of tried to say this in the other thread but didn't do it as well as you. Thanks. RIP Elizabeth

I believe that it is possible because of her portrayal of Velvet Brown.
