would be nice for the Merry Gentry series by LKH to be picked up by a multi movie package... "they" would however have to tone down the more um.... "graphic" parts.

Sorry to break it to you, but already been done. Riders was a British film in the '80s. I've seen it, and man - wow - it's horrendously cheesy.

The Hunger Games! Which will begin filming this year sometime... I'm super excited, but I know they'll ruin it just like they ruin everything else.

Sadly movie makers tend to butcher the books...so I prefer original material...

I'd be afraid they'd make all the guys look wrong, since they wouldn't be the easiest to replicate.

I'd rather they do her Anita Blake series. I think the first 6 or so would make good movies. After that it might get a bit too difficult to tone down.

Someone bought the rights to make a movie of the Nicholas Evans book The Smoke Jumper. I've been waiting for that movie to be made for years. Still waiting! Sigh.

I want someone to do an animated movie for 'Maus.'

It was a 3-graphic novel series done by a man who had interviewed his father about his time during the Holocaust. Instead of a normal book format, he did it as a comic. The Germans were cats, the Jews were mice and the Americans were dogs, etc.

It's in no way humorous. It was a very serious series. The use of animals was actually very well done.
    The dude abides ...

Can't WAIT to see Water for Elephants! I know it won't be as good as the book but I know I'll love it anyways.

    Still waiting for the Hobbit......
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done".

I'm generally not too excited to see a book I really love made into a movie. I'm a fan of the Vince Flynn series (Mitch Rapp is the butt-kicking superstar spy), and I did breathe a sigh of relief when the movie for one of the books was put on hold.

Usually I am disappointed/angry with the film result. Even as a kid, I was really ticked about The Black Stallion movie because so many liberties were taken.

The only somewhat recent screenplay I can remember that was totally faithful to the book is Atonement. It was beautifully done - a credit to the original work.

I wish Peter Weir would make another movie from Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin Series.
