Default Custom Mattes Half Pad colors

WEEEEEEEE! Custom colors, how fun. So, at some point, I need to get one and since it costs just about the same for the custom colors, I figure, what the heck, lemme just get one in a custom color. I am using a borrowed one right now. My color is purple, which, of course, they do not have. Since I ride dressage and I do not have a lot of money, I need to buy one I can show in too. So, I was going to go with the quilt color of graphite, the fleece color of dove and then the binding color of light blue or mint. I am not sure which one would look better or, if you have a better suggestion, let me know. Both Smartpak and Dover will do the custom colors. Keep in mind, you horse is a boy, I do not want to use pink, even though I think pink and gray are cute together.

But....real men CAN wear pink! I saw the Roma half pads in natural fleece and hot electric pink, and I think I fell in love a lttle!

If you're willing to buy directly from Mattes or from Europe, you can get purple. They call it violet, and it's actually a pretty nice (although not super bright) shade.

Bugs, veering off a little from your orig. topic. I took my jump saddle to the tack shop to see if a Mattes 1/2 pad would work (saddle very forward) and the A/P half pad didn't fit, but the A/P full pad (which I don't really want) fit perfect. Is the A/P what you're getting?

No, dressage. I have one I am borrowing right now. It is perfect but I think it's owner would not mind having it back.

I have a bright bay (see website) and his colors are azure and canary
I have the grey mattes half pad, and think it looks smart on him. i'd vote for the light blue piping.

Any Mattes dealer can order you a custom pad, so pick your favorite dealer and call them! They have to be custom ordered regardless of who orders it. They are very nice. I've got a burgundy dressage pad with black fleece and black trim. It was a leftover that someone didn't buy, so I got it at a great price. I'm having a hard time justifying buying another one, but the full pads are so much better (for me and my horse) than the half pads. I need the sheepskin right on the horse. My jump pad is plain 'ol white with natural fleece. Yep, this might be the year to get a few more.... Avezan is coming back in work and she's the sensitive one.

A while back, I posted a suggestion on Zazzle's product wishlist for custom dressage pads. These would be FULLY custom designs -- in other words, any text, print, pattern, photo, whatever, on a saddle pad.

Unfortunately, I can pretty much guarantee that there won't be enough other people asking for saddle pads so Zazzle is unlikely to offer it. More's the pity.

But I still have hopes that they will offer fully customizable RAIN BOOTS (Wellington-style). Again, I don't know if there's enough support for them, but I sure hope so!! They'd be SO completely AWESOME!
