Default Stop/cut down the Flax in the spring?

Should you cut down/out the flax in spring/summertime if you have good pasture and don't want to encourage weight gain?

All three of mine get 1 cup of Omega Horseshine each day. All are in good weight, and no one needs to gain weight.

I do simply because fresh grass is a great source of Omega 3, which is the whole reason I feed flax

Ah, thank you JB......that's what I was thinking too. And it saves me 40.00 bucks every six weeks.

I cut out the flax once the grass is up for most of my horses - the IR pony still gets a 1/2 cup a day in the summer and I gave it year round (1 cup) to a horse I used to have that had fly allergies. Hope this helps.
