    Default Who's behind Eventing Nation?

I'm a latecomer to reading Eventing Nation and am curious as to who started it. I tried to search on the site for info but can't find it. I find plenty of references to Marmaduke(?) but haven't quite figured that out yet...

Marmaduke is referring to Oliver Townend (or that part of your brain that always makes the fun but maybe not so responsible decisions)...I believe it started with his speech at the USEA annual Convention...Ecogold has the speech on video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-2kx8g4230

John Thier. A nice, very bright young man (23ish) who rode on the Area VIII YR teams when I was the YR Coordinator. I believe he lives in VA.

Marmaduke is the reference to Oliver Townsend 'evil twin'

I'm sure there are others who can fill you in more.

Welcome to the EN family BestHorses, we appreciate your readership more than we can say. Janet's link is where I was 'outed' for the first time.

I first met John when he was riding his little pinto pony Molly (he was shorter then ). Molly later ended up in our barn and John went on to bigger things, including (lucky for all of us) founding eventing nation!

And if you're at an event around here, let me know and I can point him out to you. And then we can have a cheering crowd for him on x-c
He's actually incredibly shy about all that IRL, I just like to give him a scare.

I love EN and have often wondered about the man behind the machine. I doubt I'll ever meet him unless he heads towards Aiken though.. If I ever knowingly run into you, John, I'll be sure to say "hi" and tell you how cool I think EN is.

John is the Mark Zuckerberg of eventing. Pretty soon he`ll be so rich he can fund the entire USEF!!

He might go down to Aiken, he's in FL at the moment but I know his trainer is there.

I'm quite sure I had a John sighting at Bromont last year. He moves fast!

LOVE Eventing Nation. It was actually EN that gave me a clue to start reading this site! (we don't have enough eventing specific forums and sites to read in Australia imo!).

Where can we buy EN T Shirts?
