    Default Breeding my mare..any suggestions?!?

I am thinking about possibly breeding my thoroughbred mare in the next couple of years, if not sooner, and for some reason I am really drawn to the connemara stallions. I have always wanted a tb/connemara cross. My mare is very sweet, I broke her myself, she is fearless, and just about the best horse you can really ask for, does anything, loves water, is not spooky a bit, she is about 16.2 hands. If i breed to a connemara I want the baby to have some height to it, so I can ride it comfortably and not look like an idiot haha I am about 5'4 and average built. Also I want a stallion who is going to pass on his even temper and kind personality. Does anyone have any suggestions on connemara stallions that they have had success with? I am looking to event the baby. I want something really athletic. It will probably be awhile until I breed her. I am just excited to look at the prospects!!! Thanks ahead of time!

ArdCeltic Art would probably fill all your requirements. He is a REALLY nice stallion.

He is really nice. If I ever decide to try and breed a pony from my "so huge/afraid to measure" mare, he'll be on my list. Do you know if he's homogyzous grey?

I would recommend Moxley Duncan, at Blue Ridge Farm in VA. He is a 14.1+ hh buckskin.

He won an eventing award when he was competing, has huge scope, is a lovely mover, and most importantly his personality and temperament are TOPS. Adults and kids ride him, he is bred live cover with just a cotton rope, etc. He is just a total sweetheart.

He has been bred to several TB mares in the area. Most of the foals are buckskin/dun, and usually average 15.2-15.3 hh.

I have 3, soon to be two unfortunately, Conn x broodmares but I breed them to RID stallions. Many RID's are not ginormous, I aim for 15.3 to 16.2

ETA:This is the sofa, she's a hair under 16 hands by Touch of the Blues RID out of a 15 hand supposedly Conn/Trak mare..

I'm 5'4. The expression of pain was caused by the new saddle I was trying....and promptly sent back

I have a mare in foal to Fergal....a smaller RID

    Default Connemara stallion suggestions

    http://www.cadyodalyfarm.net/stallion_3.html

TAG looks like he'd be a good candidate for what you want.

Cashels Rock of Ages would be another suggestion

I selected Thurman Clearheart to breed to a TB mare. I'm eagerly awaiting the foal at the end of April.

He's currently posted for sale on the ACPS website, so I don't know if breeding to him is an option at this time.
