Looks like a plain ol' adorable Appy to me. I can remember Katherine Lindsey, MFH's columns in COTH about her Appaloosa hunter(s) - The ones who really "took care" of her AND themselves (looking out for No. 1 is usually an Appy's No. 1 prioritiy). The one pictured might possibly a race-bred one with a good dose of TB. I've had four Apps, two Foundation bred, one race bred, and currently an Arab cross (16.2h.h.!!). I haven't jumped the youngster yet, but the other three were all TERRIFIC jumpers and I field hunted one of them. Considering the rarity of Knabs in this country, I doubt someone would be riding on in the huntfield. It would be a pretty expensive field hunter. LOL Not impossible that it's a Knab, but I think an App is more likely.
TVH (Tennessee Valley Hunt) usually has a foxhunting 101 weekend in late Aug. I went, sans horse, two summers ago, and audited (?). I was going to go with my mare last summer but a 2 month long lameness problem put a quick end to that plan.
Carla was the contact person and that is her in the pic. I'd ask her, and join TVH for their August weekend!
Ive keep seeing that picture when Im on here. He is so very pretty. I think having a Dalmatian all my life has made me love leopard Appaloosas. This one does look like an App. Like someone said before, Knabstruppers are rare here and leopard ones are even more rare.
