I (well not really me, but you know what I mean!) am expecting my first foal this summer, and while I will have great vets and other experienced people there for the foaling, I want to try and be as educated as I can be, so I am looking for a good book to read on the foaling process. It will also help the months go by faster!
So, is there a "What to expect when your mare is expecting?" type book that you love? I would like it to be pretty detailed and informative, and tell me about care for the mare and foal before and after birth. Would love to hear suggestions!
It's been awhile but I can recall my library having several that I re-read many times-" Blessed are the Mares" AND "Blessed Are The Foals". I recall these had great photos and great info as to potential problems and how to address them in an emergency.
I was surprised to learn that there are so many potential problems.
