    Bandwidth probably.
    Costs a lot.
The site and BB are already huge...and free.
Why be greedy? We have lots of them these days. This one has been over a week long already.

Because there would not be enough time for anything else.

Because many don't like change and trying new ways.

Every time something new has been tried, the outcry has been wild.
Even lurkers come out of the woodwork to complain.
Never mind than a week later no one remembers how the old site looked before the changes.

    TOB=the other board: http://www.ultimatedressage.com/foru...7973927fd0cc8f

There has been some conflict with TOB in the past.

Many COTHers get excited about Off Topic Day(s) because it's something special. If it were there all the time, it wouldn't be special and exciting anymore.

You're right. Familiarity breeds contempt and all that. And I have spent a ridiculous amount of time here this past week! Luckily, I am on vacay so it is my time to waste. And really, how clean does my house have to be?

    This

I also think it's funny how every OT Day someone starts this thread and it always gets the same responses. We should just get the Mods to sticky it

Thank you. It is scary how addictive OT Days are. (Though I have vacuumed and mopped!)

because members would forget all their alters, and confuse themselves even more. (if you need an alter, you need to be asking the question somewhere else imho)

And, can you imagine the Ban rate???!!

Well they should be making money off the advertising. I hope they are smart enough to use the Off Topic days to bump their visit numbers and there site traffic numbers when they need to use those numbers to set advertising rates. You really have to worry about the future of print magazines these days. They are all struggling and the BB may be what saves the print COTH somewhere down the road.

Yes, if your windows are not that clean you won't have attack quail come thru them.
Something good from spending time on COTH OTDs, not house cleaning.

    Default My $.02

    I LOFF OTDs!
The recipe threads, the book & movie threads...

Mostly I like chatting with COTHers about something other than horses.

I would not be bored at all if OT became a permanent forum.

I think it's much more special when it is a holiday "gift."
