Well I posted a few times about goats in the house, and goat dystocia......what drama. We had twins born Dec 16, twins born Dec 20 and triplets born Dec 22. Dec 23rd i went out to find one triplet seemed to be selenium deficient. Inoculated everyone with BoSe (Vit E/Selenium shot) and by morning he had his sucking reflex back. But that morning we also found one of our first twin baby girls was not doing well.
I ended up missing most of Christmas at my mom's while a dear friend taught me how to tube feed her. Spent the next two days tube feeding until we finally lost her Sunday night around 9PM. Theodore (one of the triplets Alvin, Simon and Theodore) was in the house with her for support. Mom was pushing him away as she had three. So now Theo is still in the house, riding to work with me each day (thank goodness i have great bosses). Making trips to TSC, etc. He's one week today and I hope to get him back to the barn with his siblings and bottle feed him from there. I can't bear to lose another one.
But Monday night I took a short video of Theo with my whippet and orphaned barn kitten. Ignore the christmas clutter, the girls had toys EVERYWHERE! It's been getting progressively more fun to watch them each time he's out. I have to get more video. The kitten dive bombs him from the scratching post. He did go out for play time with his siblings last night and mom tolerated him but again wouldn't let him nurse. It's going to be MIGHTY hard to sell this little guy.
The video is awesome. Reminds me of a triplet we had to bottle feed. ACtually, a friend did most of it for us. Her kids (human) were on spring break and Peewee lived in their laundry room for that whole week, getting fed every 2 hours and playing with their dogs.
We did get one of the other does to accept him. But we had to milk her and feed him that milk for several days, then pen them up together.
Good luck. I miss having baby goats.

Awwww, thank you for loving my boy! He is a 1 1/2 year old Long Haired Whippet. I lost my first LHW July of 2009, she was 16 and my best friend. I found him a month later, he was 16 weeks old and is the PERFECT PUPPY for our family. He is so good with all the animals I bring in the house. I call him my son.
