People, institutions, ideas,... whatever...to be grateful for this Christmas day.
In great big, fat, 4-feet high letters: HOSPICE.
My mom is terminal. She has four failing heart valves. They impact her ability to think, breathe, move and speak. Hospice makes all this bearable...
I don't know how they do it...how many emotionally devastated people they must see and try to comfort. I know they will not see my comments, but if any of you out there either work in hospice, or perhaps are a hospice volunteer, endless, major-league, home-run thanks to you. God bless you for your efforts. You provide what little comfort there is throughout this,.. this incredibly difficult process...
I'm very grateful for this BB, which allows all of us to have a place to express—at times—our deepest sorrow, joy, bewilderment... thank you CoTH.
My critters: they are so loving—hard to express to a non-horse person—but the comfort they provide is ... so profound.
Anyway, that's my list. At least for the moment. I reserve the right to add, subtract or delete any as long as Off Topic is open.
