Here is the link to Fabuleux's breeder. They had Fabuleux and I believe 3 or 4 full sisters. Their horses have been extremely successful. There is a Weltmeyer mare in my area out of a full sister to Fabuleux, and she is really fantastic. Anyways, this could give you some ideas Oh, and I am VERY jealous that you have a Fabriano! I've wanted one for a very long time.

Depends on what is on the dam side.

Some of the Fabriano's tend to be a little heavy. Crossing with a stallion like Bonifatius (Bellissimo / Lauries Crusader xx) would lighten up the mix. In the US, Benidetto would also be a good choice.

Wehrlegirl, congrats on your new Fabriano mare.

    Sorry, have to brag.

We liked our first Fabriano mare so much that we had to buy a second. Here she is:

She is still in Germany but will be coming over next summer after she foals out.

Check out one of my broodmares named Elite Mare Fhrance (Fabriano/SPS Wonderful) on my website- www.rollingstonefarm.com. She has had 2 foals by my stallion, Shakespeare RSF (Sandro Hit/Arrian/Pablo/Saloniki). Shotgun, her 2009 colt is being raised by me as a stallion prospect and her 2010 filly named Shyriana is, in my opinion, a big ring dressage prospect. They were both premium foals at their GOV inspection. Fhrance is back in foal to Shakespeare RSF for 2011.

We are leaning towards Don Schufro. Since she is in Germany, we don't have to worry about the frozen semen quality.

Hey, you guys are great- thanks! Dan, Mo, your mares are beautiful! My girl is imported and her dam was a TB by a sire approved Trak and Han. Still researching that line a bit. She is a big mover, though a little flat kneed and a nice round frame. So it looks like Fabriano does well with the Donnerhall and w-line? Ive seen a few by Florestan sons/grandsons...

Two names are getting mulled over; Sir Donnerhall ($$) and Florencio ( ?) She is new to me, so you know how it is.. looking for the tried and proven nicks..

Fabuleux's breeders have also had good luck with their Londonderry / Fabriano crosses.

Annetta at HighValley Hanoverians has a very nice SPS Fabriano mare. She has had multiple foals for her, so you can see those crosses.

Thanks! I see the Escudo II there...I went back to the Celle stallion site and looked at Embassy whose damsire is Fabriano, but then saw the sire of that mare was Singular Joter. I think Im just confusing myself now lol! Dont you wish it was just an exact science ?!

I love Londonderry, have one coming this spring. Maybe its the Warkant coming through.. hmm

So, Ive been following up on the suggestions-- What do you all think about Don Index? He is really young, but modern looking. The line seems to be a good cross.

I saw don index in verden, not quite sure what to think
As I like the breeding a lot. Seems (surprisingly) a bit difficult and have heard others say the have seen the same in other places. On the other hand, is just a baby still
Let md know if you use him, and what the outcome!

What about Falsterbo? He's by the glorious Fidermark and out of a Brentano mare. Proven producer and, even better, lives in the US.

Yes, I really like him too! He is actually my fresh 'fall-back' for my Diamont mare.

    Default Donnerhall

I bred my Donnerhall mare to Fabuleaux (Fabriano x Augustinus) and got a fabulous filly:

She is now being started under saddle, and we are planning to show her in the Young Horse FEI classes.
