OK - all the usual questions - eventing barns/trainers? What is the price range for full care board? How is the Pony Club scene? Where to live to be near said eventing barn? What is traffic like? Any suggested web sources? Thanks all for your help!!!

It's been over ten years since we were part of the Quebec/Eastern Ontario eventing scene but here are some points & links that may help. Firstly the nearest barn could be north of Ottawa across the bridge in the Hull/Gatineau area in Quebec. The Quebec eventing organization is the ACCQ
Otherwise I remember the majority of barns were mainly south of Ottawa. The Ontario Horse Trials Association has a downloadable list of coaches in the 613 Area Code here . You'll notice that they show if they have an indoor - absolutely required if you want to keep your horse fit in the Great White North winter although hacking out in the snow can be beautiful. Another source could be one of the hunts in the area (Ottawa or Lake of Two Mountains).

There are a few eventing barns in the Ottawa area.

Oakhurst is probably the biggest/most well known. I had a student on a work placement there a few years ago and she loved it.

I don't do eventing so I don't know anything about the particular barns - but these are the one you hear about most.

They are in Kingston, and are pretty much settled in according to Morag's blog.
