Default Should SRB get a cell phone for Christmas...

So SRB is begging me to get a cell phone for Christmas.
I have approach/avoidance on this one.

if i get him a cell phone he will be the only horse in the whole stable to have his own cell phone which definitely gets him more pasture cred.

otoh, i can just picture going out to see him and finding bags of feed, crates of apples and carrots and a lifetime supply of ginger snaps waiting for me.

not to mention LE showing up to arrest me because he sexted pictures of his er, male appendage on the internet.

And of course the excessive texting and going over his minutes.

i am already on his manure list because he only has three saddle pads, and no bling on his browband.

I am a bad bad mother.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, you could get him a pre-paid one and tell him he is responsible for paying half of it. You could assign him a dollar amount per a blue ribbon.

Or, you could get him one for emergencies only. Such as, Hoof stuck in fence, or tummy hurts.

Go for it! I would much rather pay the cell bill than have to guess if the barn workers dressed him correctly or if he has non frozen water. He can call you if there's any problems instead of you having to drive to the barn. Yes, I am an anxious mother but my DD had a phone much earlier than her friends so that I could give her space and not fret. I am sure that you raised him right and he won't take advantage of your generosity
