I've been observing a very odd situation. A person that posts on message boards has been pretending that they but their horse down because they couldn't care for it anymore and refused to sell or rehome the horse, this upset a lot of people who felt really bad for the horse http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_frown.gif The owner went as far as to make thier signature line "Fluffy The Horse 1995-2004" I've changed the name and birth year but you get the idea.

Well it turns out the owner made it all up. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...s/icon_mad.gif The horse is fine and alive and well. The owner is in fact posting on another board about all the training she is doing with the horse.

So why would someone do something so strange? Any idea? I'm just worried about the future of a horse that is stuck with an owner that would take pleasure out of pretending to have the horse killed. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...n_confused.gif

Well Galileo, I for one think this poster has had too much "fire water." Either that or there are huge psychological issues bubbling in her head. Maybe a combination of both. http://chronicleforums.com/images/cu...milies/yes.gif Suffice it to say the reputation of a stallion owner is paramount and in this case, well enough said. I can't imagine needing attention that badly but then again, who am I to say? I can truly say that is one stallion I will NOT be visiting. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...s/icon_eek.gif

**Edited to add I truly hope the poster in question stays on that other bb. This one is too nice a place.

The internet is a good way to be anyone you want to be. Maybe this person feels like they need some emotional support from others and he or she doesn't know how to go about it the right way? It's by no means okay...but if you aren't comfortable dealing with the real world, I guess saying your horse was put down is one way of getting some sympathy. The situation ends up being sad for a whole other reason.

I wouldn't believe ANYTHING this poster says until someone actually SEES that the horse is alive and well. After all, she just recently posted on here about having her horse put down on another topic (about thoroughbreds in case anyone is wondering http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c.../icon_wink.gif )

Can we please try to keep the responses a bit "general" so that this topic has more of a chance to say open. I don't want to make it about the individual or the moderators will have no choice but to close it. Thanks http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif

ok--this will certainly be general enough--I'm not sure what's up with this poster, but I have seen poster(s) whom I know in real life post exagerations and total lies on this board. I think that's part of why people get on the internet--to escape reality. Shoot, I post to escape my job, but the rest of my reality ain't so bad that I try to make a different reality in bulletin board land. Others may not be so fortunate.

I think there are people who need to be the center of attention and who thrive on drama. A good friend of mine from college was this way, she had a heart of gold and was a great girl, but she was a compulsive liar. http://chronicleforums.com/images/cu...ilies/sigh.gif She told so many farfetched stories that we came to the realization that she seemed to actually believe them herself. It was strange and sad at the same time.

    Really !!

Possibily if certain people who have done nothing but follow this person around and even to the point of registering under assumed "usernames" just so they could post something nasty about them (this has been going on for almost a year)them maybe the SO would not feel the need to allow others to think the horse is dead.

I don't believe that anywhere the SO stated straight out that the horse was euthanised. People who want to think the worst of people WILL DO SO at the slighest suggestion.

As far as I can recall the stallion owner has never been "straight out" about anything.

Coreene, help me out here. Is it oy vey or oy vay? I simply cannot remember and the term most certainly applies here.

dl, as our friend DMK pointed out, we Canadians are lucky to have full health care. For the love of God woman, USE IT. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...n_rolleyes.gif
