Sprieser Sporthorse winter clinic series - January and February events
Brr! It’s getting cold outside, but we’re just getting started here at Sprieser Sporthorse with a bustling Winter Clinic Series! I’m really excited about all the great events we’ll have planned, with something nearly every weekend all winter long.
Here’s a few to get things started!
Saturday, January 8 - Success In The Saddle fitness camp with Debbie Rodriguez
“S” judge and trainer Debbie teamed up with Tina Keasey, a licensed and certified athletic trainer, to produce a series of 20-minute, no-excuses exercises directed specifically at dressage riders. No matter your level of fitness, everyone can benefit from their program, based around improving core fitness.
Leave your horse at home and join us for this group fitness session! $100/person, and recieve a full set of Debbie’s DVDs as part of your registration - a $60 value! Email firstname.lastname@example.org to RSVP.
(and PS, Debbie will be returning later in the Spring, and there will be a contest for the Most Improved between the two sessions, with some great prizes!)
February 11-13 - Balimo workshop with Dawn JensenBalimo means Balance in Motion. It is the creation of Eckart Meyners, a professor of sports physiology at the University of Luneburg in Germany. Balimo is about unlocking the muscles and neural pathways that time, gravity and our lifestyles have either over-used or under-used. The key to better riding is to improve balance and flexibility. Through the Balimo program, exercises are used to rediscover our body’s balance and free motion; they are very specific but effortless, and concentrate on seat and position in a functional way.
Join us for a three-day weekend of instruction in Balimo work from Dawn Jensen, a Balimo Graduate Instructor and USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist. Email email@example.com for more information.
February 26 - Foundations of Performance Horse Nutrition
Join Drs Chad and Stephanie Davis, DVM, and nutritional expert Doug Leavitt in an afternoon lecture on feeding the performance horse. Free to the public. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
