Default Left my Adequan in unheated tack room - is it OK to use?

I don't know why I didn't expect it to be cold in December ... stupidly left my big bottle of Adequan in an unheated tack room. I don't think it's been below 30 degrees in there. Is it still OK to use? This is for a horse who seems to really rely on the Adequan for soundness, so I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I keep mine in the fridge all summer so at the temp you say it should be fine.

Throw it out. It is not worth it. It is not to be in the fridge either.

If it didn't freeze it's probably fine. Heat is what causes degradation. I'd give your vet a call and see what he/she has to say.

If you use it, allow it to warm to room temperature before use.

I'd call your vet or the company.

I've been at two barns where the barn owners insisted that the adequan be stored in the refrigerator in the summertime.

Thanks for the label info. I couldn't read mine because the pharmacy put their own label on top of the Adequan label, and it wasn't pick-off-able.

    I'll call the company.

    Do so, to be sure

controlled room temp is just that

Heat can degrade a solution but so can cold.

If you use this product monthly or once a week, it is better off kept at home where you can control the conditions

    Thumbs up That was easy!

Just called Luitpold. They put me straight through to a very knowledgeable guy who told me that it is fine (both safe and effective) even after freezing as long as the vial didn't crack or burst and as long as it thaws clear. He said to warm it up slightly before injecting if there is any chance that it froze to avoid injecting micro-crystals.

He also told me that they used to recommend fridge storage for Adequan, but once the canine stuff got approval, they also went for approval of room temp. storage and shipping up to temps of 112 for a short stretch of time (he was more specific on that stretch of time, but I forget already).

So for all of you storing in the fridge, you're fine, and it sounds like I'm OK too.
