Attractive 9 yo 16.1 TB mare, sound in VA - video added
I acquired a nice big boned unraced mare this spring and she's just not my kind of ride. I think she'll make a nice show hunter for someone else who has some time to put into her. She has been out of any kind of real work for about 18 months. She is up to date on shots, had her teeth done in the spring and is ready to go into work. She is sensitive but not stupid. Would do well with a soft quiet ride. Is a forward horse, but level headed. She was shown by a previous owner, but I had not done anything with her. Will make a great horse for the right person.
This video is about a two months after I got her. She had had 9 months off previous to my getting her. At the time this video was taken she was sporting a huge gaping hole in her one hind where an abscess blew out.
This is her right after I got her...less than 10 rides post her 9 month vacation. She is growing out an abscess in the right hind and that's why she's not pushing off on it like she should. Once the hoof wall came off about 5 weeks after this video, we realized that she had no support on about half of that side of her foot. She's doing great now and the artificial hoof wall (bondo) has almost grown totally out.
