Default Hi- Newbie here looking for advice.

Hi- My husband is getting transferred to Houston in March and we are moving to Sugar Land, TX. I live In Metairie, LA right now.

A friend told me about this forum when I was asking how I could find a driving trainer near our new home in Texas. I have a Haflinger trained to drive single and was taking lessons, but will need to find a new place to learn. I have an easy entry cart.

Any suggestions about trainers in the Sugarland / Houston area?

Any suggestions appreciated. It is OK to send me a PM. I am looking for someone patient and not too expensive. Thanx

Oh, too bad you're in Sugarland. I live in DFW and I drive. I'd be willing to train your horse for free, I miss driving that much.

Driving should be more popular than it is...what a blast.

    Good luck finding your trainer!

Thank you. I am looking for a driving coach or trainer for me. Do you know any of the trainers in Texas? I have a trailer and can trailer my horse and cart if necesary.

I really don't. So few people do driving out here, and I'm kind of new to the state. Sorry!

You might contact Vantage Point Farm in Houston - they drive with Saddlebreds and Hackneys, but they might be able to refer you to someone (super nice people - they donated their time to come do a clinic at our horse expo in October).

There's also Tom O'Carroll in Navasota (that's maybe a 2 hour drive from Sugarland - I'm guess there). I don't have his contact info, but it ought to be out there on the internet.

    Wish I could help more...
