Palomino TB Filly For Sale on Horsetopia
I want to post as many places as possible that this ad on horsetopia.com is a scammer and I did NOT run this ad...despite it having another e-mail address and the scammer sending photos of a chestnut horse when inquires are made..I have gotten 3 inquires from this ad. I would hate to think someone sends him/her money and then calls me later wanting to know where their filly is that they paid for. I was first made aware of this by a fellow breeder over the weekend..I immediately sent the link to my web site where the words were copied word for word and asked them to remove it..as of today it is still not removed..so need to get he word out this is a fraud ad from a scammer and not even in this country most likely when you read the broken english when you send an inquiry on the filly. I have asked people on FB to send e-mails letting him know we know his scam and also [email protected] with ZERO response back from them!!! I would never advertise with this company after this and their lack of support in removing the ad.
This is the ad in question
http://www.horsetopia.com/for-sale/classifieds/ad482056
If adnyone knows the secret to get it removed please share...I have e-mailed, had others e-mail and can't get them to respond..I've even forwarded his/her e-mails to them.
Happy Holidays to Everyone!!!

Change the title by adding "scam". You'd get more hits that way.
JMHO.
What a terrible situation for you.

I looked at horsetopia briefly the other day and noticed several scam ads. If you search Hanoverian, for example, someone has stolen some of HW Farm's ads and is advertising those (very fancy) horses for 3K in ads riddled with typos.

This person just sent this phone number to someone, so he can tell her how to send money.
The number is 443-478-9306 and is a Baltimore, MD number..now do you think the number is real..and if so if he is in Niageria for example will the number charge you somehow if you call it? I would love to call, but not sure what will happen..
The ad says he lives in KS...?

Well, lies are lies, and cell phones are bought by dozens cheep to set off IEDs, so nothing in this listing is likely real - except the description the dirtbag stole from YOU! I would think just reading the listing that the giveaway (first one) would be that he lists disciplines as "cutting and dressage"... WOW a real all-rounder!
I'll be sure to not consider using this venue for ads! Hope you get it resolved soon

Bridget,
Just sent another email to Horsetopia on your behalf. Wish there was something else that could be done. People like this should be sought out and prosecuted!

Thank you for doing that..so far it has not worked..but a gal that just bought Mom's Tiffany Gold is a federal agent and let's say things are being worked on...so we will see but usually the USA won't follow through on doing anything to them other than some blocks and then they make up new e-mails and then does it all over again to someone else.

Sent an email as well. This is never a good thing. I'll never forget seeing Pal mare's photos online about a year after I lost her. Person had her for sale and listed her as a Palamino Morgan/QH cross. It took me forever to get those pics off the site and I just was not emotionally in a great place to deal with it. Usually horsetopia is decent to deal with in regards to scams.

Well so far they have ignored me and many others who have e-mailed them...you would think they would remove the ad with all the e-mails at this point.

They must not care about scam ads...several people on the Britney/Le Brand farm thread on Off Course emailed them about ads she's placed, and I don't think anything has been done about them. It's been a couple of weeks at least. And her ads have been pulled off many other sales sites.

As JB has already pointed out, more people would read this thread if you put 'Scam' in the title. As it is, it sounds like a mere advertisment, and I nearly didn't bother opening it.
Sorry this has happened to you. Horsetopia needs to have better systems in place to handle this type of thing.

If this was an advertisement of a horse for sale..COTH would have pulled it longggg ago.
I guess, I should just give up...it is still up and seems they have ZERO interest in removing the ad or even responding back to me about the ad...and I don't want to spend money with them to run an ad to say the ad is a fraud and put money in their pocket..of course if my ad Read HORSETOPIA SUCKS and condones fraud, they might remove that one...you think????

The trouble with alot of the bigger websites is they are just a "commercial mill' owned by huge corporations that make websites for any popular "items".
I found this out when I was researching software/web designers for a project I was working on.
Sorry for all the hassle you're going thru. I'm sure all their customer support is probably outsourced!

I have an idea...maybe not the best but might help with the problem.
Run your own ad on Horsetopia, or more than one, that will come up with most searches that bring up the scam ad.
Explain in your ad that that the KS filly for sale is a scam, link to your website and provide whatever evidence you can that you are a real business, the other is a scam, etc.
Also mention (nicely, and facts only so can't be regarded as libel) that you have contacted Horsetopia (by what means, and when) that your filly has been misrepresented and the ad is a scam.
If Horsetopia doesn't address it themself, you have done what you can to protect yourself.
This does involve sending money to Horsetopia for something they should fix themselves, so is definitely aggravating. But it might be better than doing nothing, and risking your reputation.

Horsetopia is owned by Internet Brands

You might want to see if they can assist you in any way. Maybe they will at least give you a contact at Horsetopia that will help you.

Well I now know why most refer to horsetopia as horse Dopia, here is David the dumb a**... response..
David thanks for the response back after some 10 days now...I do need to ask can you read for comprehension? Or are you from Nigeria too? I not only provided the ad number but the link to the ad in question below....all you had to do was click on the link on YOUR site and it would take you to the scam ad and you could read the ad, the e-mail address and the ad # that you just requested from me some 10 days later..I even went further and posted the link to my site where you could find the ad that was stolen word for word and also the link to equinenow.com to show also were he might have stolen my ad from...so the ball is back in your court now..so if you can read for comprehension please see below in the original e-mail giving you all info requested in your short response back. I must tell you your site is getting a lot of bad press on Face Book which is a powerful tool...b/w my 7,000 friend and their friends...I doubt they will ever use horsetopia after your lack of a timely response and now this response asking question that the info was provided...I will post a copy of your response to my e-mail there..I'm sure they will be equally impressed with your lack of attention to a fraudulent ad on your site!!!
All the Best,
Bridget

After this response from me he FINALLY removed the ad!!! I believe it is only because with the power of FB and the some 50 plus e-mail, he decided to remove the ad!!! I would not recommend you, run and ad nor look at ads there..there are more fruad ads than actual ads...seems they really don't care about scam ads!!! HorseDopia dot com!!!
