Default Days End Farm Horse Rescue competes for Green Roof Giveaway - 2 more days to VOTE

    Dear COTHers:

A company in MD called Cole Roofing is holding a competition among over 30 non-profits to receive a free green roof from them.

The competition is based on on-line voting, and currently the vote leader is (yay!) Days End Farm Horse Rescue.

You can vote EVERY DAY between now and the end of the competition -- there are as of 12/7/2010, 11 more days to go.

Go here to see DEFHR's essay and to vote for them TODAY. Tell all your friends, do it every day until the end of the contest:

    http://greenroofgiveaway.com/nominee...?nominee_id=17

Days End has built the shell of an indoor arena using a donated structure, but it needs a roof so that they can ride in bad weather and at night, greatly aiding their efforts to train and rehome the horses they rescue. DEFHR has a solid reputation for good care and financial responsibility. Let's put them OVER THE TOP in this competition! I can't donate enough $$ to buy them a roof, but we can all sure vote for them to get it.

    Thanks, COTHers. :-)

I know, sorry. That's why I have a junk e-mail address that I use only for stuff like this. Thanks for taking the trouble!

I have also been voting every day. Day's End is a class operation, and it would be perfect if they could get this roof for their arena.

Number 2 somehow managed to catch up 200 votes yesterday. So, please, vote for Days End. They need that roof!

DEFHR is up 1369 votes at this moment; keep voting through the day, we would hate to see their chance for a roof slip away.

    Thanks all!

Well, they won $5,000 for getting the most votes. That kind of took me back, since I thought I was voting to get them a new roof. But, I just went and read the rules (shoulda done that before) and the final winner will be chosen by two or more judges.

    http://greenroofgiveaway.com/rules/

Votes will be only one of the criteria. So, fingers crossed that they get the new roof, based on all of the criteria.

Gee, I thought we were voting for a roof, but 5k is good, too.

So now what do we do to influence the judges?

I know, me too, until I saw their FB post about hoping the essay would win them the roof!! I am sure they appreciate the $5000 in their bank account though!!
