So my Stubben Genesis from the Cyber Monday sale arrived today. Its gorgeous! I've never has a new saddle and I've never owned a black saddle before. Should I condition or oil it before I ride in it. Also how do I go about ensuring that the saddle actually stays black?

Well, you can go to the website and see if they mention care, or a care tag might come with it.
I just sold mine-didn't fit my horse, and I would have never treated it with oil because the leather felt already broke in. So I just conditioned it with Passier Lederbalm, and that was fine.
I've had a Genesis for about a year and I love it! It doesn't fit my horse so it's up for sale. Anyway, I never oiled it. The Stubben rep told me to use Stübben Hamanol Leather Dressing
on it once. Rub it in and buff the saddle, it will feel a little tacky. Your butt will feel glued to the saddle for a few rides. If you don't like that feel then just buff it really good. For every day care just wipe down with water after each ride to get the sweat off. Clean with saddle soap as necessary. There was no break in period needed, the leather is that yummy. He also said to ride without a saddle pad for the first 50 hours (?) so the panels can compress and form to the horses back.
