My Hunter Jumper filly wants to be an Eventer with pics
So my filly and I both need to lose a few LBS. So I am taking her on trail walks off the farm.Today we went on a 2 1/2 hour trail walk. She took me to the ditch and bank we saw yesterday and wanted to check them out again. I was amazed at how she boldly jumped the ditch. After that a truck stopped on the dirt road and chatted with us for over 20 minutes. She patiently waited and was happy to munch the grass on the side of the road. Then we proceeded to walk another mile through the woods and came upon a small creek. She has never seen water like this before. I jumped across and what did she do...Follow me of course. She never panicked when she was in the mud. She thought it was so much fun. Really I think she wants to be an Eventer. Here are a few pics of our adventure today.
Just wanted to add that she wont be jumping it every time we go out, but I liked that she did what I asked with no questions asked and seemed to really enjoy it.

Thank you, and you are so right. She will do anything I ask, without a question. I just make sure to keep each new experience a good one and she never hesitates when I ask her for something else. It is an honor to hold her trust and I will never do anything that would take that for granted I am having just as much fun as she is.

Thanks Penny. I had her sold and my daughter begged me to keep her, so we did. I am having just as much fun as our filly. She is by Escapade out of my TB mare Ms. Ritmo Latino. The mom is bred back for a full sibling in early May

NO reason at all you can't do Hunters AND some Eventing with her And foxhunting, and hunter paces, and and and
That is what I am hoping I want a horse that can do the hunters one weekend, dressage another weekend and then give pony rides to the neighborhood kids on the side. That is my kind of horse. One that will let us do it all.
And I would love to try fox hunting. I am in a pretty good area for that

The expression on her face is priceless - totally calm, willing, accepting, and "ok whatever mom!" She is going to be one nice lady once she's grown up!!!
