RIP, old girl
This afternoon, we had to put my boyfriend's old mare, Ginger, down. She was colicy this morning, and after a vet call, it was determined that she more than likely had a twisted gut, and the decision was made. At 25+ years old, she had been a fabulous trail horse, a wonderful lesson horse, and truly was one of the sweetest mares to work with. She will be missed.
this, it be right.

IMO there is noting greater than an old mare that has devoted her life to you. Thank you for doing right by her. I am so sorry for your loss.

RIP Ginger
So sorry Timex, and your boyfriend, for the loss of your old girl. I once boarded with an old, blind mare named Ginger and I've never forgotten the day her dad put her down. I hope the two Gingers are queens in the Ginger fan club!

I'm sorry. Sounds like she had a grand long life with your boyfriend. I hope he can look back on those great memories and smile.
My condolences.

This it certainly be right. A tip of the cap to a grand old lady, and so sorry for your loss.

I was there when my neighbor had her mare named Ginger laid to rest at a decent old age, she was a rescue case, and while sad, it was a blessing to release her from her pain on earth. So, there may be a happy herd of Ginger mares waiting on the other side.
