Default Pedigree Gurus, here's another one

My 7 year old Apt to Win. He is tattoed, but never raced. It has always intrigued me as to why he was culled. He has some very upright pasterns, a hard to find fast button, and a combative attitude on occasion, although that's mellowed.

Here's his pedigree, anyone knowing anything about horses with these bloodlines, please comment.

He's very nicely bred. Some classic Claiborne breeding on both sides. Thong is outstanding to see in a pedigree, as is Weekend Surprise. Alluvial was the dam of Slew O' Gold and Coastal. Strong dam-lines on both sides. Aptitude stood for $25K that year, although he's dropped down to $7,500 now.

There could be any number of reasons why he never ran. Could be slower than a fat man, couldn't hold up physically, mentally not into the idea of it.....who knows. I'm sure they gave him a shot though, considering his pedigree.

My BO owned his half-brother for a few months, a 2004 gelding by Cryptoclearance named Courageous Roy. Here are some photos. None are great, but it will give you an idea what your horse's half brother looks like. I believe my BO got him from a dealer, he wasn't very successful on the track.

Courageous Roy- $36,803 including a win isn't too shabby, considering most never even make a nickel.

True, I guess it wasn't a bad career. He was no Pay Attention, though. Of course...I'm slightly biased.

Yes, he's my baby! Here's a video, it's someone else riding but I think it shows him well.
