    Default Winter Blues

We are starting to get the winter blues again and it's only November. Hopefully looking for ideas to break up the monotony of th indoor ring while being consciencious of the less than perfect weather. Can be indoor things or outdoor things.

Well to fight my winter blues, I have decided to teach my horse to ground drive. I don't have any where indoor to ride, and the outdoor is going to be a mud pit until April, so I figured I could use the driveway and all of the farm roads nearby to teach my horse to ground drive.

Can you try something new like tricks or bareback? Maybe play around with learning massage and extra stretches? Some in hand obstacles or jumps?

Desensitizing! Grab those tarps, grain sacks, trot poles, anything odd and scary and work on bomb proofing.

    Bareback is great.

I second long lining and ground driving.

    Trick training

    Free lunging for fun

    Bridleless riding

    Shall I go on?

I'll be doing the riding in the snow thing!
