I rescued a APHA mare while I was living in GA. She has a very crooked front leg due to injury, not genetics. Otherwise she is flat out gorgeous, 2 blue eyes, great shoulder, balanced, and a lovely, slow legged western pleasure type mover. She comes from a history of abuse so needs to get to know you at first, but once she does she is a big doll, likes to give kisses and be loved on. Fairly easy keeper, no vices, does fine inside or out, submissive in the field but seems to get along with all types. No maintanance issues, but needs to be trimmed on a regular schedule due to her foot (every 6 weeks works fine). Ties, bathes, clips, stands for farrier, etc, etc. Very easy mare.
She is broodmare sound only, and although she is generally sound in the field every once in a while she is off on her crooked foot, so I would not reccomend her for riding. She will go with her papers and if you would like, I can include a breeding to my 17hh TB stallion for a nice hunter/all around type baby. If I do not find a home for her before spring I will be breeding her to a APHA stallion I have already chosen and she will be no longer available.
I emphisise this mare is in no danger at all, and will stay with me as long as it takes to find her a GOOD home, even if its forever, lol. But if I can place her, I can take in another that is in need, so that would be great too. References will be required and checked, and she will always be welcome back with me if she doesn't work out.
Luna is currently located about 20 minutes outside of Blacksburg VA. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/scooters+cowgirl
There is a pic on her pedigree, I will be getting current shots today and post them as well.
Your dog may not be broken, but he still needs to be fixed.
