Default Lid supports for tack trunk

I've been searching for lid supports for my wooden tack trunk with a bandage holder lid, and haven't been having much luck. I want something that will hold the lid up in a variety of positions, not just at 90 degrees, and keeps it from slamming shut. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Home Depot and Lowe's has a selection of hinges that might work. Look for cabinet hinges, there are heavy duty ones that lock in various positions and are intended to hold up significant weight. You might talk to the folks who work in the cabinet dept.

Another option is to search on-line, we've bought some heavy hinges for various woodworking projects... I think Rockler might have some but am not sure.

I found them at Tru Value I think. They are actually called trunk supports or such. I used them on old flip out barn windows to hold them open. Brass, cheap.

Try www.rockler.com or search for toy box hardware/lid supports.
