Barn Construction Question: Specifically, Metal Work
I’m in the process of building a barn & I’m not using stall kits, but rather have custom stalls built. My question is regarding the metal work and stall bars as well as the dutch doors & windows. Should these be painted or powder coated?
Does anybody have any experience with powder coating & is it OK with heavy heat, sunlight & weather exposure? Does anybody have an idea of what the cost per foot should be to paint or powder coat? If I did powder coat, should it be done with two coats or is one sufficient?
Quality of powdercoating is completely dependent on the cleaning and prep process. If it was mine, I'd get it hot dip galvanized (for maximum durability) or paint it with a Moisture Cure or epoxy coating (for looks-search "Sherwin-Williams industrial moisture cure coatings).
This looks like the closest hot dip place to you. Thanks for listing your location.
