    Default Light bulb moment?

Yesterday at Waredaca, my young horse seemed to wake up, and "get" the fact that cross-country is fun. This was his fourth outing. What's your experience with horses learning the game?

Denny says that boldness comes from confidence, confidence comes from ensuring success. A horse having fun XC sounds like a confident horse to me, and that in turn means that you are doing the right things to ensure that. Now I'm a lowly amateur, but I'd say, well done!

That just might be my 'most favorite moment' in the training of a young horse. NOTHING better. Congrats.

    Default Well...

We had a few moments when I wasn't sure he'd listen to the half-halt. Running down a slope to fence 5 on the BN course, I could see the fence judge backing away, wondering if the rider was going to get things in control. Luckily she did.
