Zeus is Percheron/Morgan cross gelding. He is a stunning horse with a good and gentle soul. He is only 5 years old but has been diagnosed with side-bone (his front right foot). We are giving him away but will require the new owner to sign an agreement stating that, if for any reason they have to give him up, they will give him back to us. My main concern is to make sure that Zeus has the best and longest life that he can. He is currently being field boarded in Bumpass, VA and we will pay to have him transported anywhere within the state or help with the cost of transport out of the state.
He comes to you when you call his name, he will gently bump his nose against your cheek if you ask for a kiss, he loads into a trailer easily, and gets along with pretty much every horse he's ever met. He doesn't spook easily and isn't flighty but he is young so he can be pushy sometimes. All it takes is a strong, "That's enough!" and he backs off. He's usually only pushy if he thinks someone else is getting a treat and he's not. He loves attention but doesn't pine if he isn't getting a lot and is a very easy keeper. We have been getting his feet done about once a month because my farrier trims that right front hoof with a bit of a curve to it (rocking horse style) to make it comfortable for Zeus. He doesn't show any signs of lameness at all unless it gets bitter cold. Then you will see him favour that side a bit.The leaner he is, the better it will be for his condition - that may be the only difficulty you will have with him because he is a piggy. He LOVES to eat. But that can be managed.
We LOVE Zeus! But we are moving and can't afford to keep him. We are looking for a good home for him where he can be a companion to another horse or someone's beloved pet.
